Skyrail Rainforest Cableway is a unique rainforest experience taking you on an unforgettable journey over Australia's World Heritage protected Tropical Rainforests. Spanning seven and a half kilometres, Skyrail has comfortable six person gondola cabins which glide just metres above the canopy, providing spectacular and uninterrupted views of the rainforest, tropical Cairns, the Coral Sea and the lush Cairns Highlands. Witness the wonders of the world's oldest continually surviving rainforests from Skyrail's unique vantage point, before alighting at Skyrail's two mid-stations to explore and learn more about this fascinating environment from the forest floor. At Red Peak Station Skyrail's qualified Rangers provide regular guided boardwalk tours throughout the day, sharing their environmental expertise and answering any visitor questions. Meanwhile, easy access walkways at Barron Falls Station take you to three separate lookouts providing breathtaking views of Barron Gorge and Falls. A one way Skyrail journey takes approximately 90 minutes while a return trip is two and a half hours.

Tjapukai Aboriginal Cultural Park

Tjapukai Aboriginal Cultural Park is Australia's most awarded attraction and the only Aboriginal experience providing a direct benefit to the local Aboriginal People. Situated on 25 acres of land north of Cairns, this multi award-winning centre is a stunning theatrical interpretation of Aboriginal culture. Tjapukai By Day: For the first time an entire park has been dedicated to preserving and presenting authentic Aboriginal Culture with the aid of the most modern technology. Tjapukai boasts five theatres, a traditional camp, museum, retail gallery and a buffet restaurant. The park provides visitors with a meaningful glimpse of a rich and ancient culture. Tjapukai represents part of Australia's Aboriginal face abroad, working closely with Tourism Australia and Tourism Queensland, and is often called upon by journalists and documentary film makers seeking information on the 40,000 year old culture it represents. Born of a need to portray Aboriginal culture with dignity and pride, Tjapukai started as a co-operative partnership between six young men from the Tjapukai (people of the rainforest) tribe and Don and Judy Freeman, international theatre artists with a global background in producing community theatre.
